Previously, I've discussed SEO patience, Local Search Engine Optimization, and SEO collaboration. Now I'd like to discuss the next step to achieving absolute domination in your industry. Winning the SEO Domination game is a little like beating pancreatic cancer. The odds are against you. No matter how good you are, someone out there is better than you. No matter how much work you put into it, someone else works ten times harder. And if you try and work smarter, someone else has already beaten you to the punch.

So instead, you must do what all geniuses do. It's called the combination factor. Here's how it works.

Geniuses are known and admired for being able to find connections between apparently two disparate and separate things. That's how discoveries are made, inventions are created, and ideas are born. It's how search engines work too, by the way. They simply find connections between what is being searched and what is available and combine them into an easy to view page on the web.

But back to the Combination Factor.

The Combination Factor can be simplified to one basic point: Create To Attract. What this means is that in any industry, you have certain ways of attracting a sale. Stale methods will only get you so far. This is why we have ad agencies--they continue to create and devise new attractive means of roping in customers. Sales--the bottom line of SEO and marketing, will only come when you attract people to what you have to offer.

By Creating to Attract, you're putting together a package that is irresistible and undeniably necessary to targeted people.

So what does all this have to do with Search Engine Optimization?

Combining the seemingly unconnected will open up all kinds of doors, bringing you unprecedented traffic, and monetizing your search results. Here's how it works. Think about my own industry, breast implants and breast augmentation internet marketing. It's a very specific niche market that appeals to high dollar customers, since the procedures themselves are high dollar. Thus, the need for effective Search Engine Optimization for terms like breast augmentation, breast implants, or plastic surgery is extremely high.

But certain SEO tactics in the medical industry can be more difficult than, say, sports or electronics--I'm talking about link-building. Try getting natural, organic links for your breast surgeon marketing site. It's not easy. What to do?

Create to Attract.

What's big? Facebook, MySpace, Zeddo, Digg. Is there a way to combine my industry (breast implants) with one of these other services? The answer is an unqualified, shout-out-loud YES! I could create a Facebook application for analyzing your true breast size, shoot and upload a humorous video to YouTube, or create a fake celebrity breast blog that would allow me to talk about my industry in a way that attracts people to read it.

The point is to combine the unexpected into something new, something innovative that drives traffic. Create To Attract. That's the Combination Factor. And that's how you can continue to dominate your industry.
