For you to get traffic of visitors landing on your website through search engine optimization, your website must be listed preferable on the left-hand side of the first search result page returned on visitors computer screen whenever they type in the keywords or keyword phrase that best describe your website content. One of the factors that enable your site to be listed on the first search result page is how many back link from other websites that points to your own website.

If you don't know what a back link is, then let me explain. A back link is your website URL especially that of your home/ index page placed in another website. Now, for your site link to be placed on another website that is not you would need the permission of the site owner, sometimes you would be faced with rejection, delay on your link placement and certain conditions you might not easily meet such as requesting you to first place their website URL ink on a web page of your website with high Google PageRank before they can place yours on their website (this situation gives two-way link that is both parties linking to each other).

Two-way link is difficult to get, especially if your website is new, therefore the fastest and reliable way to get quality back link is to get one way link. The question is how can I get one way back link?

Well, the most reliable way to solve this problem is to use your author resource box. Your resource box is a body of words usually 1-5 lines of text that includes your website URL link as part of the text. But, you'll have to place it at the end of an article or comment post you have written. Below you'll find seven places where you can use your resource box for maximum impact in getting one way back link to your website.

1. Article Directories. You write quality article with good content and your resource box placed at the end of the article. The resource box should contain your website URL that you want to point to, preferably your home/ index page. In submitting articles to article directory, don't just write your article anyhow, ensure that the article has good content that would enrich your readers knowledge, so that they would be compelled to visit your website to learn more about you. Here article submission to 99% of article directories is free of charge but keep in mind that your resource box is what gives you one way back link.

2. Blog posting. Basically blog post are of two types that is either you post an article as a guest blogger or post comments about an article you have read on the blog. The resource box used for blog postings vary in length, the one used for posting articles on blog resemble that of article submitted to article directory, which is about 4-5 lines in length while that of comment post is about 1-2 lines. However, keep in mind that the resource box should contain your website URL link to no matter its length, so that you can get one way back link. Again articles or comments posted in blogs are free of charge although the blog owners' permission/ approval is required before article can be posted while comment post does not require permission/ approval.

3. Press release. You can announce the launching of your website by writing press release article and then submitting it to press release websites for circulation. There are very many press release website on the Internet, some will allow you to submit press release for free while the most established ones will circulate your press release for a fee. The advantage of press release is that it not only gives you one way back link but attract swarm of visitors to your site at very fast rate, sometimes within few minutes of publication.

4. Discussion forum. This works much the same way as blog post. The only difference is that you don't need an invitation from the discussion forum owner or promoter before you can post an article. However, your article must meet the rules and regulation of the discussion forum otherwise it would be deleted. Posting articles and comments on discussion forum is free, although there are certain discussion forums that are not free especially those of paid membership sites. In order to get effective one way back link, it is recommended that you should use free discussion forum because it is accessible to all and you have high chances of getting traffic of visitors to your website, especially when readers click on your website URL in your resource box.

5. Ezine articles. These are article you write complete with your resource box that is published in your own ezine or other publishers' ezine, who accepts your article for publication. Alternatively, ezine publishers may pick your article from article directory that feature it and publish them complete with your resource box in their ezine. This process is also free of charge and your website URL in the resource box gives you one way back link.

6. RSS feeds. Content site, blog, membership site, and even newsletter/ ezine publishers can syndicate your articles by subscribing to your RSS feed or the RSS feeds of article directories or blogs that publish your article. This way your articles get published complete with your resource box in them. The use of article syndication by RSS feeds is free of charge. The advantage of RSS feeds is that it enables your articles to appear in lots of website and this gives you very many one way back link because the resource box contain your website URL

7. Product review. You could write an unbiased review of products and/ or services of other people and submit it to product review sites. The review should take the form of an article and at the end insert your resource box that contains your website URL giving you one way back link. Writing product review for publication on product review sites is free.

These seven points are just some of the ways you can get quality one way back links to your website (whether content or direct response), blog, website based newsletter/ ezine, membership site and so on. If you desire to use search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to get high search engine ranking for your website, then I suggest your article or comments that contain your resource box should be submitted to websites or blogs with a Google PageRank of 4 and higher.
